What a BEAST of a Redfish!
Today was a tough day in the marsh hunting for redfish but as they say, good things come to those that wait! Take a look at this BEAST of a Redfish that I managed to pull in during a tough day in the marsh! This was such a swollen and thick redfish, that the release….well, I’ll let you see that for yourself. I’d love to have caught this one on a tournament day!
The water quality has improved dramatically in the last week or so in our marsh system! It now has a green tint and is far more clear. The visibility went from horrendous a few weeks ago to better than it’s ever been in this marsh. It made sight casting a breeze as you could see the bottom. The only drawback is that the tide was so high that the marsh itself was swollen. I normally like a higher water level, but this was a bit too high. And it made finding the fish far more difficult than it should be. I’m glad I hooked this giant on the way back to the truck, regardless of the release.
